By night, he spins tracks at the city's hottest clubs as a celebrated DJ. By late night, he dons wetsuit and high-tech diving gear to solve underwater crimes that plague the harbor district. Armed with clever scuba-themed gadgets and an encyclopedic knowledge of ocean ecosystems, DJ Scuba proves you don't need superpowers to make waves.
“DJ Scuba is a music DJ at night and an underwater scuba detective by late night. He does not have super powers, but he does have Scuba inspired gadgets. He loves to use scuba and ocean puns.”

Marcus "Marc" Waverly started as a talented sound engineer and marine biology dropout who couldn't choose between his two passions. When his sister disappeared during a midnight dive near the harbor docks, the police gave up—but Marc didn't. He combined his knowledge of acoustics, electronics, and oceanography into a suite of specialized diving gadgets and became an amateur detective. By day he recovered her case file (finding her alive, held by smugglers), and by night he became DJ Scuba: part entertainer, part vigilante, entirely committed to protecting the underwater world above and below the music.
Sonic Amplification Suit (Level 35): His custom wetsuit contains embedded piezoelectric transducers and directional hydrophone arrays. He can emit focused sonar pulses to map environments, stun targets at close range, or communicate across vast distances underwater. The system drains power rapidly—sustained output lasts only 8-10 minutes before the battery requires a 2-hour recharge.
Pressure Resistance Engineering (Level 28): Custom-built dive frame and reinforced joints allow him to operate at depths up to 1,500 feet without suffering decompression sickness, though the suit becomes increasingly rigid and slow below 800 feet, reducing mobility. Ascending too quickly overrides safety protocols and causes temporary disorientation.
Adaptive Rebreather System (Level 32): A chemically-regenerating oxygen system extends underwater operations to 4 hours. However, if water temperature drops below 40°F, the chemical reaction slows dramatically, reducing oxygen output by 60%. The cartridges cannot be swapped mid-dive.
Weapon Mastery—Harpoon Arsenal (Level 38): Pneumatic harpoon gun, electrified tridents, and tether-line weapons. His accuracy underwater is exceptional despite water resistance, but all weapons have limited ammunition (typically 6-8 rounds) and surface reload time of 15 minutes.
Intelligence—Marine Investigation (Level 42): Encyclopedic knowledge of oceanography, criminal smuggling routes, marine life behavior, and underwater salvage techniques. He can analyze scenes, predict currents, and identify suspects through biological evidence.
No Superhuman Durability: Despite his suit, DJ Scuba is fundamentally human. Direct impacts, shark bites, or piercing weapons injure him as they would anyone else. His suit offers moderate ballistic protection but isn't invincible.
Technology Dependency: All his advantages rely on functioning gadgets. EMP devices, extreme pressure spikes, or salt-water corrosion disable his suit's electronics. In true equipment failure, he's a skilled but vulnerable diver.
Air Limitations: Even with his advanced rebreather, he cannot operate indefinitely underwater. Forced deep dives, rapid pressure changes, or sabotaged oxygen supplies are immediate threats.
Cold Water Vulnerability: His systems, especially the rebreather and sonar, degrade in extreme cold. Arctic or deep-sea operations significantly reduce his effectiveness.
Marcus is a charismatic showman in the booth—energetic, witty, and obsessed with ocean puns (much to everyone's groaning delight). His late-night detective work reveals a serious, methodical mind focused on justice and environmental protection. He balances humor with genuine compassion for victims and an almost obsessive attention to detail. Despite his flaws, he refuses to kill and rarely escalates beyond subdual, earning him respect from both the nightlife community and the harbor police who unofficially tolerate his vigilantism.
